Mindful Piano Intensive (MPI)

Have you always wanted to play the piano?
Have you been told that it’s too late to start or that it will take years to become proficient?
What if I told you that with the right approach adults can learn to play the piano faster and more efficiently than children?
I have spent the past several years developing a mindfulness-based approach to teaching and learning piano, specifically for adult learners. By putting mindfulness at the center of our learning process, we can tap into the full capacities of the adult mind. We make significant progress very quickly while creating a spirit of discovery and play.
I invite you to join the Mindful Piano Intensive, a program of piano study tailored specifically to your own musical goals. This intensive workshop is designed for adults who want to learn how to play the piano, or improve their skills in a more efficient and enjoyable way.
Don’t let limiting beliefs hold you back from pursuing your passion for music!
Within the beautiful, safe container that Robin has created in this well-planned intensive, I was able to restore my own relationship with my piano music, which had been broken since childhood. I have discovered and recovered my own soul’s music and found it to be valuable. I feel more alive after having done this work, and I now have a spiritual, emotional piano practice that will be with me for the rest of my days. If you hear the small voice that says you would enjoy this exploration of mindful piano, please listen. It’s important. Something amazing can happen for you here.

YOUR ZONE OF GENIUS
“Genius”, as it pertains to music, is a frequently misunderstood concept.
The notion of musical genius evokes images of people with magical skills. We imagine composers throughout history performing musical sorcery as they craft masterpieces to bestow upon the mortals of their realm.
But the longer I spend making music, the more I become convinced that genius is something we all have access to.
And I’ve also discovered that for a lot of us, the access-point to our own genius lies in an unexpected place: Our inhibitions.
Our Inhibitions are the key to our genius.
I’m going to say that again…
OUR INHIBITIONS ARE THE KEY TO OUR GENIUS.
It’s completely counter-intuitive. But it’s true.
The parts of us that feel the most closed, the most vulnerable, the most incompetent, the dumbest, clumsiest, ugliest, icky-est… These are the gateway into our highest self.
The reason is simple: Our inhibitions are like the bouncers of our ego. They stand guard. They look intimidating. They make sure we don’t do anything to threaten the ego or compromise its fragile hold over our identity.
But our genius does not reside within our ego. It resides within Source.
Source overwhelms the ego. Source is infinitely more powerful than our ego, or any ego on Earth (no matter how inflated). When we connect to Source, genius becomes our natural state.
What keeps us from connecting to Source?
You guessed it. Our inhibitions.
Those magical composers of the past and present have access to their genius because they understand: Genius is simply a heightened capacity to pay attention to Source.
Our inhibitions shout “Don’t look at me! I’ll make you feel ugly. I’m everything you hate about yourself!” And all the while, they’re secretly guarding the door to Source.
Because our inhibitions know: As soon as we step through that door, connect with Source energy, and liberate our authentic self, our ego is out of a job.
So…
Instead of taking our inhibitions at their word… Instead of being intimidated by the ego’s bodyguards… Instead of looking away…
Let’s learn to hear what our inhibitions are really saying:
“Look over here! Your genius is right behind this door.”
